37 Furlong Road: Permission Refused!

Wycombe District Council has refused planning permission (for the moment) for the proposed demolition and redevelopment of 37 Furlong Road. The decision notice was posted on the planning website on the 17th July together with a number of other related documents. The reasons for the refusal makes interesting reading. You can find all the related documentation here.

What this does show is that the community can achieve something if we all get behind it – it makes sense now to double our efforts to get behind the flag to get the traffic issues on the road resolved!

37 Furlong Road:- Bats are a Protected Species!

It has come to our attention that the bats that are regularly seen at dusk around 37 Furlong Road (and may/probably originate from this site) are a protected species. This has been flagged to Natural England and WDC so that they are aware. If the bats are indeed at risk – as local residents, we need to ensure that the appropriate actions are in place to ensure that this is dealt with in the appropriate manner. If this is something that you feel is an issue that should be highlighted – please feel free to register your views via the WDC website and/or drop an email to Natural England.

The last sighting of the bats was on 08 June 2008 so they are still very much in existence in the area.

37 Furlong Road: Planning Application 08/06194/FUL

A planning application has been lodged to convert the Toolmakers @ 37 Furlong Road into a development of 15×2 Bedroom flats with associated car parking etc. This is a proposed development that has the potential to materially add to the already stessed infrastructure of the road and we need all the residents of the road to be aware of the development anBourd also voice their objections / concerns if they have any.

If you would like to read through representations that have already been made to WDC, you can do so here. You can also have a look at an opinion map of the representations that have already been received by the council here.
