Bourne End Post Office to Close!

The Post Office has proposed that the branch in Bourne End village centre is to close and that the Furlong Rd branch remains open. Post Office literature lists Furlong Road as a nearby alternative branch and states “There is roadside parking available nearby”. Many residents are campaigning for improvements to the congestion and traffic levels in Furlong Road. There is concern that this proposal is likely to increase traffic and create additional demand for parking. Clearly there is a fine line between loss of an amenity & increased congestion.

The issue is to be raised at the next council meeting.
