Furlong Road traffic issues.
A meeting was held on 20th January with Councillors Mike Appleyard, Simon Fowke and David Watson. Various traffic options were discussed; these included one way traffic systems, pedestrian crossings, parking restrictions. Wycombe District Council has earmarked possible funds for a pedestrian crossing outside Alfred Court. However, there are a number of technical difficulties with all of the options discussed.
It is clear that any changes must be part of an overall package that should include traffic calming measures, such as a 20mph speed limit. In addition parking restrictions must include an element of resident parking permits. We will keep you undated with developments.

Traffic Issues: Public Meeting Mon 20th October
Earlier this year a petition was compiled and presented to the District Council expressing residents concerns about the road traffic issues in the Furlong Road area.
Following this, it has been agreed that a public meeting should be held between the residents and Councilors to discuss the best way forward. Ian Francis has arranged for this to take place at St Marks Church Hall on Monday 20th October at 6.00pm (18h00).
It is very important that as many residents as possible attend in order to show the level of our concern. At least 3 Councilors will be there to hear our views and to answer questions.
We will post more information here as it becomes available.

Traffic: Latest News
Ian Francis presented the Furlong Road traffic petition at the Council meeting on Thursday 3rd July.
The meeting went well with a very positive attitude from all Local Councillors, Simon Fowke, David Watson (chairman) and Mike Appleyard. The traffic councillor, Ken Moloughney has made a visit to Furlong Road and was also in agreement that improvements need to be made. The timescale for the improvements will not be immediate because of budget restraints, but if we continue to apply pressure there is a real chance that improved traffic management will be implemented.
It seems likely that the next step will be to organise some meetings between Furlong Road / Close residents and Council members to see which of the proposals are most favourable. A document with details of our petition along with possible solutions was issued at the meeting. Ian has asked permission for the relevant parts of the document to be published on the F.R.A.G. website. If and when this is forthcoming we will post this information along with any possible dates for meetings
